In news not derived via Google Translate, Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke recently made an appearance at The Worldwide Awards 2011, where he presented Flying Lotus with the award for Album of the Year. As you can see in the video below (via Some Kind of Awesome), BBC 1′s Gilles Peterson caught up with the two men shortly after the presentation. What you don’t see, however, is the news that Yorke apparently shared with Peterson at some other point during the evening.
“I think we’re just lucky that Radiohead are having some free time at the moment. And Thom was just hanging out. He enjoyed himself. And there’s a new Radiohead album if you’re wondering. Just done I believe,” Peterson said during his Worldwide Awards highlights show on BBC 1. Listen to the clip here (the part about Radiohead begins at 1:26).
Much like every piece of Radiohead news, nothing is confirmed until an album shows up on what.CD or Jonny Greenwood issues a public proclamation. Either way, take some time to daydream.

My internet went out yesterday. After a particularly frustrating hour and a half of trying to fix my network connection to no avail, a sense of panic started taking over my body, nay…my soul. I had set aside time to blog last night and listen to a heap load of new music and now I was stranded in a world with no internet and password protected networks taunting me. “You want access to me?” they said, “Yes!” I yelled as I tried figuring out the password to the “SkeetsandSues” network. No luck. The connection was protected by armed guards seemingly stabbing me with little swords saying “get away from here YOU!”. So after probably a good three hours of frustration, I gave up. I needed a brief internet detox it seemed, so I picked up PR Guru Kelly Cutrones book “If You Have to Cry, Go Outside.” I spent five hours reading and looked up maybe once. After I read her book cover to cover I realized that I hadn’t done that in a long time. It felt damn good.
So I have to ask you, do you remember life before the internet or Facebook or Twitter?? I had forgotten how great it was to read a book without distractions. Mashable.com put out a funny little comic this week asking and illustrating that very subject. I am not saying give up the internet, if you did, I would not have a job or my daily coffee from Caffe Calabria- But maybe disconnect once in a while, it will do you wonders.
